The Recruiter operates the-recruiter.org, a recruitment platform that connects job seekers with partnered recruitment companies. Candidates register profiles to be discoverable by recruiters, and can also apply directly to jobs listed on our job board.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly when registering or applying through our platform, as well as certain technical data gathered automatically.

Information you provide:

• Full name
• Email address
• Phone number
• LinkedIn profile URL
• CV or resume (including your work history, education, qualifications, and any other details you include in the document)
• Professional skills, job preferences, and career goals entered during registration
• Cover letters or additional notes submitted when applying to jobs

Information collected automatically:

• IP address and general location data
• Browser type and device information
• Pages visited and time spent on the platform
• Referring website or source

• To make your profile discoverable by partnered recruitment companies

4. Sharing Your Information with Recruitment Companies

The core purpose of The Recruiter is to connect candidates with recruitment companies. By registering a profile on our platform, you explicitly consent to your profile - including your name, contact details, LinkedIn URL, and CV - being shared with and viewed by our partnered recruitment companies.

These recruitment companies may contact you directly about roles they believe are a good match for your profile. We require all partner companies to handle your data in accordance with applicable data protection laws and to use it solely for recruitment purposes.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. We do not share your data with any company outside of our recruitment partner network without your explicit consent, except where required by law.

We may also share data with trusted service providers who help us operate the platform (such as hosting, email delivery, and analytics providers). These providers are contractually bound to process your data only as instructed by us and to keep it secure.

5. Legal Basis for Processing

Depending on how you interact with our platform, we process your personal data on the following legal grounds:

• Consent - You have given clear consent for us to process your data for the purpose of making your profile discoverable by recruiters. You may withdraw this consent at any time by deleting your profile.

We retain your personal data for as long as your profile remains active on the platform. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal information from our active systems within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records for a longer period.

Even after deletion, anonymized or aggregated data that cannot identify you personally may be retained for analytical purposes.

If your account has been inactive for 24 months and we have had no contact from you, we may reach out to ask whether you wish to keep your profile active. If we receive no response, we may delete your profile at our discretion.
